There are many resources out there for Rage to help you through problematic areas, and the game itself allows for a variety of combat strategies. However, one thing I found particularly helpful in the latter part of the campaign on Normal difficulty, and again on a second playthrough on Insane, is that wingsticks are an incredibly powerful and versatile weapon.

1. In open areas, it is entirely possible to retrieve a wingstick automagically
2. On exposed (ie helmetless) foes, wingsticks are a one-hit kill
3. In closed areas, it is entirely possible to retrieve a wingstick manually when stuck in an enemy's head - you just have to be quick as they stumble forward and pull it out before they fall to the ground
4. When reloading, a wingstick is the perfect inter-load weapon on melee rushing enemies
5. With advanced wingsticks, you may get a 3 for 1 deal!
